Marck Zuckerberg annuncia oggi che Facebook ha cominciato a generare flussi di cassa positivi nel secondo trimestre 2009.
La notizia colpisce anche perché ancora oggi i flussi positivi di Facebook sono generati principalmente da un network pubblicitario che pare fatichi ad ingranare, ad oggi gestito da Microsoft che ha anche quote rilevanti nel capitale di FB.

This summer I have been bombed by notifications coming from Facebook apps tried once and never used, but still remained signed into my FB profile. I have’nt been able to remove them via Iphone and even from the web interface I had to go and research to find a way. Honestly once you have the solution it is quite easy: just go to the authorized applications list (you must be logged in) http://www.facebook.com/editapps.php#/editapps.php?v=allowed and click on the X sign to remove an application. Quest’estate sono stato bombardato di notifiche da applicazioni facebook che erano rimaste incrostate nel mio account. Dall’iphone non sono riuscito a cancellare le app e anche dall’interfaccia web ho dovuto cercare per un po’. In realtà una volta che sai dove andare è molto semplice. Basta andare all’elenco delle applicazioni autorizzate a compiere azioni sul tuo account http://www.facebook.com/editapps.php#/editapps.php?v=allowed (devi essere loggato a FB) e cliccare sulla X per rimuovere senza pietà.

Facebook strategy is aimed to monetizing the tremendous volume of data created in the social network. This acxquisition could boost up the real time technologies development in Facebook but also -maybe- a slow down in the development of friendfeed, still a niche product, unknown to the mass audiences.
Facebook ha appena acquistato Friendfeed mettendo un paletto significativo nell’analisi delle conversazioni in real time.
La strategia di Zuckenberg del resto, è da tempo orientata verso la valorizzazione dell’enorme massa di dati e informazioni che transitano nel social network. Questa mossa potrebbe significare un boost nello sviluppo delle tecnologie real time ma anche -forse- un rallentamento (o l’arresto?) nello sviluppo di friendfeed che è ancora oggi un prodotto di nicchia sconosciuto ai più.
